Comparative Proteomic Analysis of Peritoneal Dialysate from Chronic Glomerulonephritis Patients
Peritoneal dialysis (PD) frequently contributes to peritoneal damage which cannot be easily identified without invasive techniques, implying the urgent need for biomarkers and revealing mechanisms. Chronic glomerulonephritis (CGN) is one of the leading causes of receiving dialysis treatment. Here, we attempted to analyze the peritoneal dialysate collected from CGN patients when they receive con...
متن کامل‘Soybean sauce’ peritoneal dialysate
A 68-year-old woman with end-stage diabetic nephropathy undergoing continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis for 2 years was admitted for septic shock with coma, who was found hours earlier. Physical examination revealed an unconscious febrile woman with blood pressure of 84/ 49 mmHg. Blood tests showed a haemoglobin of 11.5 (normal 12–15) g/dL, white blood cell (WBC) count of 11.3 (normal 3.8–...
متن کاملProteomic Profiling for Peritoneal Dialysate: Differential Protein Expression in Diabetes Mellitus
Peritoneal dialysis (PD) is an increasingly accepted modality of renal replacement therapy. It provides the advantages of having a flexible lifestyle, stable hemodynamics, and better preservation of residual renal function. To enhance our understanding of the peritoneal dialysate of diabetes mellitus (DM), peritoneal dialysate proteins were identified by two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2DE...
متن کاملPaecilomyces variotii in peritoneal dialysate.
Four cases of peritonitis caused by the filamentous fungus Paecilomyces variotii in patients on continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis are reported. Removal of the Tenckhoff catheter and antifungal chemotherapy led to resolution of symptoms in all cases. Possible contaminating events are discussed, and reported infections with P. variotii are reviewed.
متن کاملRelationship between dialysate oxidized protein and peritoneal membrane transport properties in patients on peritoneal dialysis.
BACKGROUND Increased levels of oxidized proteins have been reported in the serum of patients with end-stage renal disease, though little is known regarding the oxidized protein content of the dialysate in patients on peritoneal dialysis (PD) and no information is available as to how this may correlate with important clinical and laboratory variables, including abnormal peritoneal membrane funct...
